Jobs Checking & Referencing

The sensitive nature of the work we do for our clients work means that the people we place must be reputable and upstanding. For your application to be successful and before we can place you we carry out a number of checks which you must pass.

So that we can process your application without delay we need you to help us by providing the information we ask for quickly.

Professional references – we will pursue professional references to verify your employment history for the last five years. For periods of non-employment we may accept a bank reference.

Personal checks – this includes ‘right-to-work’ and proof of address.

Credit check – given the nature of the work we undertake we can only employ people who have a sound credit history. We will pursue a credit check about you.

Disclosure Scotland – this is to verify that you have accurately declared any criminal convictions.

Your company information – certificate of incorporation, certificate of professional indemnity insurance (we require that contractors have cover for up to £1m), VAT registration if applicable (your accountant can advise if your earnings require that you are VAT registered), business bank account details to demonstrate that fees are being paid into a business account.

For contractors working through an umbrella company your umbrella company will provide the necessary information.
